Shamrock Wreath for St. Patty's Day (Tutorial)

The real iconic symbol of St. Patrick's Day, for me, is the shamrock. I like the rainbows, pots-of-gold, leprechauns and such, but the shamrock immediately takes me to this Irish holiday, and, as I've mentioned before, I have a thing about wreaths. Occasions, holidays, and whims require the construction of a new wreath and, since St. Pat's is a holiday, I made a wreath! A ribbon wreath featuring the Shamrock, to be precise. Last year's wreath had shamrocks as well, but this year I went for a single shamrock design to mark the occasion.

Sunny Spring Paper Wreath & Flowers

The changing of seasons is quickly approaching...the signs are all around our house: my hubby's days have lengthened since his Track & Field season is starting; his athletes are getting into shape; the birds are singing as they return from their winter migration to begin the nesting process; and I saw male and female cardinals the other day! As a result, I was inspired to start preparing our home for Spring now. Since the twisted paper and wired paper ribbon I had on hand were just the colors for this season change, I decided to make this Spring Paper Wreath & Flowers.

Rustic Wood, Wire & Burlap Napkin Rings

One of my great desires is to use natural elements that we are plentifully blessed with and reuse some things to extend their life beyond the original intent. Add to that my desire to learn how to really effectively use my wood burning tool (pyrography), and this beginner project, Rustic Burlap Napkin Ring, is the ideal jumping off point. Embellishing this napkin ring with a snowflake pattern on wood allowed me to use the wood burner more than I have since I received it some time ago and to get really comfortable using it.

Valentine's Day Decorations: Wreath & Bell Jar

Valentine's Day is upon us and, before the occasion passed, I wanted to share our Valentine's wreath and show you how I decorated our Bell Jar (aka a Cloche or Glass Dome) for the occasion. I like to make wreaths for every holiday and season. Wreaths are one of those first impression items that say something about you, so I want my wreaths to convey hospitality and joy with a dash of whimsy as well as be a sign of the season.

Tic-Tac-Toe Love Board

Hi, Crafters! Valentine's Day is only days away, and, instead of the customary gifts that the stores stock up on this time of year, I decided to make a tic-tac-toe I Love You board as my Valentine to my  hubby. We love games and, when I thought  that x's and o's represent kisses and hugs, the idea of tic-tac-toe was ideal. I'm going to display it on a plate stand and I think it will be a playful addition to the holiday decor.
