Valentine's Day Decorations: Wreath & Bell Jar
Valentine's Day is upon us and, before the occasion passed, I wanted to share our Valentine's wreath and show you how I decorated our Bell Jar (aka a Cloche or Glass Dome) for the occasion. I like to make wreaths for every holiday and season. Wreaths are one of those first impression items that say something about you, so I want my wreaths to convey hospitality and joy with a dash of whimsy as well as be a sign of the season.

Tic-Tac-Toe Love Board
Hi, Crafters! Valentine's Day is only days away, and, instead of the customary gifts that the stores stock up on this time of year, I decided to make a tic-tac-toe I Love You board as my Valentine to my hubby. We love games and, when I thought that x's and o's represent kisses and hugs, the idea of tic-tac-toe was ideal. I'm going to display it on a plate stand and I think it will be a playful addition to the holiday decor.

Hey! Welcome to
Welcome, Crafters! I'm "D". I live in the Ohio River valley of the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky, and I am married to a high school teacher [we'll call him the Hub since he thinks that every thing revolves around him! ;) ]. We have a sweet 1 year old mixed breed pup named Sophie.
I have been blogging for a couple of years now at The Shady Porch. From the Porch, I blogged about food, decor, gardening, and crafts. It was a wide scope, for sure. Late in 2013, I decided to refocus The Shady Porch to be the outlet for recipes and gardening adventures. However, I did not want to give up on my passion for crafting, so Craft-D-ness was born.
I can't tell you how excited I am to start sharing craft and project ideas (and seeing yours, too!). I hope we can create lots of artsy, whimsical, and fun projects together. Stick around; we can get to know each other.
